However, England will be the happiest of the two teams after a first session without counter during which India had trouble creating a lot, Duckett opening the way with 64 Not Out and Crawley Invaincu on 42.
They avoided the risk of adding 96 to their total on Tuesday morning, largely of exchange quantities Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur after a more vigilant approach against Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
All eyes were on Bumrah under covered and winding conditions. During the first sleeves of England, it was irresistible with the new ball and while Duckett sculpted it early, Bumrah followed with a Jaffa that rushed and whistled atmospherically near the left -hander.

Crawley adopted a more cautious approach, but after hit Krishna through the covers a few times, he deceived a traction shot that landed safely at Deep Midwicket.
Duckett exceeded his half-century before India, waving for a change of ball for a large part of the session, obtained his wish for a quarter of an hour before the interval. The switch went without reward despite Bumrah’s return, dropping a difficult return to repair Crawley out of 42 at lunch.
