Robert Macintyre will not give up his dream of becoming a major champion after having failed the US Open.
Macintyre had the hope of becoming the first Scottish to win a major since Paul Lawrie in 1999, when he was the club leader on the last day to an Oakmont soaked in rain.

He produced an excellent 68 to two sub-values ββto sit in one and looked for a possible play-off with JJ SPAUN, who had two holes to play.
But the American saved his best for the end, leading first green for Birdie on the 17th before emptying a 65 -foot monster putt on the 18th to win by two strokes.
Macintyre, still soggy of the torrential rain which caused a period of 96 minutes, looked open in the striker’s office and could only have his opponent and his mouth “wow” applauded.
The 28 -year -old career trajectory is increasing, going 12th in the ranking, and he seems ready to be part of the European Ryder Cup team later this year.

The Scottish wrote on Instagram on Monday: “The competition at the end of the major championships is what I dreamed of and yesterday was the first real taste of this one. We will be back to find out more.”
He added after Sunday’s round: βI have the chance to win a major championship. This is what I dreamed of when I was a child, sitting at home looking at all the majors.
“It was one day that I said to myself,” Why not? ” Why can’t he be me today? When I went around, and I just trusted myself.
“Almost happened, but not quite. I always thought that I could really challenge, even when entering today, but obviously, the beginning was not an aid.”

His dreams seemed to be in tatters when he was two years after three holes, but an eagle in the fourth per five launched his round.
And he was satisfied with the way he retaliated.
“I am absolutely delighted with the way I played. I left difficult, I did not leave at the start that I wanted, but I worked so hard to stay patient and have obtained my award,” he added.
“I was looking at the ranking all day and I saw that I was not really talking about. It was simply a question of digging and digging. β
