A crowd of athletes Hereford and the county qualified for the regional championships of combined events this weekend
To qualify, the athletes aged 12 to 16, competed and well performed in a range of athletics events at the Championships of combined events Hereford and Worcester which took place at the Hereford Leisure Center.

Junior athletes entered the Pentathlon which was a range of running, jumping and launching events, including long jump, high jump, obstacles, weight throwing and 800 meters.
The athletes of the intermediate age category have taken six events, namely long jump, high jump, obstacles, weight throwing, javelin and a 200 -meter sprint.
The athletes Hereford and the county that participated were Freya Davies, Rebecca Davies, Poppy Hussey, Poppy Grundy, Chloe Strzadala, Saffi Reid, Lidia Michniok, Martha Bakewell, Lucy Tetley, Zofia Michniook, Erin Strak Sebastian Farrant and Ruben Mathey.
Seven athletes Hereford and County were then selected for the regional championships combined with events which will take place on Saturday and Sunday (June 28 and 29) in Abingdon in the Oxfordshire.

Saffi Reid and Ruben Mathey will participate in the Junior and Maisie Wood category, Zofia Michniok, Rafi Wilkinson, Ruben Mabberley and Fred Tyler participate in the intermediate age category.
In preparation for the event, Hereford and County Athletics organized a specialized training session with Rafer Joseph, who is a former athlete of the GB team and a 1998 national champion. He also represented England at the Commonwealth Games.
Mr. Joseph is now a talented coach and mentor of athletes who compete on the world scene. It is also the main role of the athletics talent event in England for combined events.
