The Swedish champion of the Olympic double jump, Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis, again increased his own world record on Sunday, eliminating 6.28 meters to the delight of the crowd of Stockholm Diamond League.
With the victory in the already guaranteed event, Duplantis broke the world record for the 12th time while sailing on the bar during the first attempt to improve his effort by 6.27 million in Clermont-Ferrand in February.

The 25 -year -old ripped his shirt in celebration and ran on the track in front of jubilant spectators at the Olympic stadium built for the 1912 games.
“It is a magical feeling, it is difficult to explain,” said Duplantis, who had not broken the record in Sweden.
“I wanted that so much. I wanted to do this in front of everyone here in Stockholm.
“It was really something special in the crowd today and I knew that everyone really wanted to see it too.
“It will be one of the greatest memories for me, I think, in my career.”
Duplantis won his 37th victory in 41 releases from the Diamond League, ending well before Kurtis Marschall in Australia who managed the best of 5.90 m.

The Duplantis born in the United States was in one class to another punishing jumping demonstration of the highest order, three days after a stellar screen in Oslo.
“I continued to say that it was the only thing I missed in the distinctions, to beat a record in Sweden,” he said.
“I checked almost everything now.”
Duplantis is the big favorite for a third successive world championship in Tokyo later this year. He is also a triple world indoor champion.
For the first time, he broke the world record in 2020 when he exceeded the 6.16m brand established by the French Renaud Lavillenie.
Duplantis intends to push the bar even higher after its Stockholm exploits.

“I’m going to jump higher. There is not much between me and 6.30, technically. It’s only a few centimeters. I’m just a perfect day,” he said.
The runner of the hometown Andreas Almgren nourished the noisy atmosphere to establish a new European record of 12 minutes 44.27 seconds to win the 5000m male.

Olympic champion Rai Benjamin has ahead of Alison Dos Santos to win the 400m male hedges, with Karsten Warlhom a third distant.
Warholm triumphed in the obstacles rarely 300 km on its original track in Oslo on Thursday, but Benjamin produced a global duration of 46.54 seconds by 400m.

“I think that Thursday, I became a little too excited but I felt good today even if I was tired,” said Benjamin.
Julien Alfred won the 100m feminine in 10.75 seconds, the second fastest time of the year. It was only the second race of the Olympic gold medalist of the season after his victory in Oslo.
DINA Asher-Smith of Great Britain took second place (10.93) in front of Ivorine Marie-Josee Ta Lou-Smith (11:00 am).
The double Olympic bronze medalist, Femke Bol, won the 400m female hedges in the best time of the 52.11 seconds season. She finished in front of the American Dalilah Muhammad (52.91) and Gianna Woodruff de Panama (53.99).

“I am not yet in my best form, so winning the victory is particularly good,” said Bol.
“A race is never the same as training and it is only my third race of the season … But I start to better feel the obstacles to each race and to put myself in the shape of a race.
“It is such a high level at the moment in obstacles, so I’m very excited to move forward towards the world championships.”
