Cameron Green is “the long -term option” to beat at number three for Australia, said Pat Cummins, after the captain appointed his team for the Wednesday opening test against the Barbados Antilles.
Green only scored four points and faced only five balls during the final defeat of the World Test Championship against South Africa this month after being raised in the fall of the first window.

But Cummins told the Barbados journalists that Green would keep his place in the order of the strikers, with Josh Inglis in number four while Steve Smith recovers from a finger injury.
“We still like not having too many mobile parts,” said Cummins.
“We see (green at three) as a long -term option. It hits the ball very well.
“He had a test match where he was not planned. The message is not too much to examine this.
“We are really satisfied with the place where his game is placed and I dare say that he will get a decent race for number three.”
Sam Konstas, 19, will open alongside Usman Khawaja, after being announced previously that Marnus Labuschagne had been abandoned.

“Sammy is obviously an opening match and the place available for Josh this week is at number four,” added Cummins.
Australia has retained the same Bowling attack that played in defeat against South Africa, with a single specialized spinner in Nathan Lyon.
“We don’t really know what to expect, but it seems that the three rapids are better suited to this counter,” said Cummins Fast Bowler Cummins.
“I think it will be a pretty good counter with perhaps a little rotation later in the game, (but) honestly, I have no idea.”
– New captain –
A new Antilles look will also line up with three fast quisors to Shamar Joseph, Alzarri Joseph and Jayden Seles.

Roston Chase, who replaced Kraigg Brathwaite as a captain and will play his first test in more than two years, has two spinners at his disposal.
Chase said he hoped that visitors “still suffered” from Shamar Joseph’s seven -checking transport during their shock victory at Gabba de Brisbane in January 2024.
“I hope there are scars,” said Chase to journalists.
The new red ball coach Darren Sammy completely revised the game team.
The Antilles team contains only four players in the victory of eight points at the Gabba and only three survivors of their last test, against Pakistan in January.

The explosive drummer of Twenty20 Brandon King will make his debut in the test and the white ball captain Shai Hope will return in the longest format for the first time since 2021.
The opening drummer John Campbell is back after three years in the Wilderness Test.
“It’s a new era and a new start and a new world testing championship cycle,” said Chase.
