Gout Gout will make an important step in his athletics journey this week against a formidable land during his senior international beginnings in the Czech Republic, in race which only strengthens the parallels between him and Sprint Great Usain Bolt.
Back in the grammar of Ipswich after a historic Australian season, the 17-year-old went to Europe in the mid-year school break to compete in Ostrava and during the next meeting of the Diamond League in Monaco in a program designed to prepare him for the World Championships in Tokyo in September.

This week’s meeting – which takes place early Wednesday morning Australian, offers a first overview of the teenager to the epicenter of world athletics and presents the challenge of competing for senior sprinters on the professional European circuit for the first time.
“The main objective of the season is obviously world championships,” said Gout in the Czech Republic. “Let’s see what I can do on the world scene against professional athletes. I hope I can run quickly and perform well.”
After its record performances in the past 12 months, including the 200m Australian record of 20.04 and the sub20 200m years, athletics observers have identified as gout as one of the most brilliant talents in the world. The resemblance of his style with Bolt, as well as the recognition of the Jamaican of the similarities, did little to temper the expectations.

The links between the pair will only grow deeper with the appearance of the Australian in Ostrava. When the drop was not yet six months old, a 21 -year -old bolt underlined his potential in the same meeting with a clip of 19.83s 200m, then his fastest time abroad and still a competition record. Later that year, Jamaican would win his first Olympic gold medal at the 2008 Games in Beijing.
But even before that, Bolt ran 20.28 to competition at the age of 19. He even traveled there in 2004 at the age of 17 – the same age is now – although he was withdrawn at the last minute due to an injury.
The drop has again faced questions about its similarities with Bolt this week. “It’s really great, I heard that many sprinters take place here really. I know that Usain Bolt has run here nine times, so the event clearly has a great tradition,” he said.
“Who does not want to be Usain Bolt? Being compared to Usain Bolt feels good, but I would like to put my personality in the history to come.”

This year, this story focuses on taste performance in Tokyo, and its upcoming races in Europe are designed to improve its preparation. The 200 m land of this week includes two athletes who have run under 20 hours.
Cuban Reynier Menier, 28, has already won the Diamond League meetings this year in Oslo and Stockholm, where he recorded the best of 20.05 in his season. Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake, 31, was part of the British 100m malem relay which won bronze at last year’s Olympic Games.
Gout said he has been working on his strengths and departures since the end of the Australian season in April. “I can’t wait to go out on Tuesday, seeing how my training was, how I improved,” he said. “I know there will be a good crowd, so I hope to have fun.”
